Watch
Fakes & Markets, Watched
We monitor public sales and listings against the registry and the known cases on file. We describe evidence, never people: a work is either Cat Burglar verified, or it is not yet.
Cat Burglar verifiedA Stamp of Approval has been issued on senior sign-off. The certificate verifies by signature.
Not Cat Burglar verifiedNo Stamp on file. This is the default for every work, and it is not a judgement.
Under reviewA case is open; the file is being assembled and framed.
Context onlyA known case shown for context. Never a finding about a work in front of us.
The market-watch engine reads public sale and listing pages that permit it (robots-respecting, no logins) and checks each against the registry: title collisions, size matches, claimed exhibitions, and whether the work already sits in a known case. Alerts are written in the house wording and reach a person before anything else happens.
SPECIMEN
Alert · specimen wording
An oil on canvas offered online as “School of Paris, c.1920”, 41 × 33 cm. Title and size coincide with a registry entry; the claimed exhibition has no record on file. Status: Not Cat Burglar verified. Recommended: request the seller's provenance file before any further step.
No live market feeds are connected in this prototype; the alert above is a specimen of the wording only.
Court outcomes are quoted with their source. Acquittals are recorded. A seizure or an investigation is not a finding against anyone.
